Resand awarded second prize in the Quality Innovation Award 2025

Resand Ltd, a Finnish technology company specializing in environmentally friendly reclamation and recycling of foundry sand, has been awarded second prize in the international Quality Innovation Award (QIA) competition in the Circular Economy and Carbon Neutrality category.

The Quality Innovation Award is a prestigious international competition recognized as an authoritative and influential platform in the field of quality innovation. It identifies and celebrates outstanding innovations from across the globe, providing a significant platform for sharing experiences and building competitiveness among participating countries. This year, there were 565 innovations from 6 countries. Key criteria included novelty value, usability, learning, customer orientation, and effectiveness. The winners were selected through a voting process conducted by the participating national Quality Associations.

Resand’s sand reclamation solution was recognized by the international jury for enabling significant sustainability improvements by closing the sand circulation in the foundry process. At the heart of the innovation is the Resand^® sand reclamation technology, combined with a Sand as a Service (SaaS) model that supports circular economy principles and enables nearly 100% on-site recycling of used sand at foundries. This approach significantly reduces the need for virgin sand and cuts CO₂ emissions from sand use and transportation by up to 80%.
